Wimbledon is in full swing, and as it is such a short train from The Harrington, there is no excuse not to go. Especially after 5 pm when the tickets are much cheaper. We have put together a few suggestions on places to eat once you have had your fill of rallies, and strawberries and cream.
San Lorenzo
It was a favourite haunt frequented by Sophie Loren (she admired the SL initials on the napkins) and many more famous faces. It still remains a family run Italian business with locations in Knightsbridge and Wimbledon. You’ll be guaranteed a bit of celebrity spotting as Borris Becker is known to be a huge fan. San Lorenzo is located a 5 minute walk from Wimbledon station.
The Ivy Café
The Ivy opened in Wimbledon recently and it’s been a buzzing location ever since. This is a true fine dining experience but booking in advance is highly recommended. You can visit for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the cocktails are spectacular. Located in the heart of Wimbledon Village The Ivy offers that little extra bit of luxury.
Fox & Grapes
The Fox & Grapes is located at the quiet side of Wimbledon Common on Camp Road. This is an extremely impressive gastro pub run by renowned celebrity chef Paul Merrett and his business partner Greg Bellamy. You’ll find delicious modern English menus with a twist at the Fox & Grapes.
